Last start 3/4/2021 Retired due to tendon strain, cleared for racing after rehab however stables decided to retire. Big Boy (as he's affectionately known) had a year off after being retired at a big working farm. He's good with cars, trucks, motorbikes, tractors, farm animals and dogs. Since arriving at his new owner's property he's been gently brought back into work using equine massage WA's physio program and has gone from looking like a mountain goat to looking a million bucks in the dressage arena. He is only for sale as he is not the right horse for his owner, as his movement is very big! And she has opted to go for a standardbred 🐴 He is still a young, GREEN thoroughbred - however all the "hard" work has been done. Feet - 4 good bare feet on a 4wk trim cycle Teeth - not done yet however vet inspected and advised no urgency Ulcers - scoped clear Body - good to go! Only one thing of note - he has a soft fluid sack on his back left hock, inspected by vet and advised it's not joint fluid and is of no concern unless lameness presents. No lameness has ever presented. Has mild separation anxiety at home however doesn't affect him out and about and can easily be ridden away from other horses and does not call for companion, even more relaxed when taken out with no companion. The basics have been done with this guy, and he's been exposed to a variety of environments with great success Darling downs, Showjumping lessons Dressage clinics Trail rides Open spaces Adult riders Show at Murray And show at Perth horse and pony club 🦄 MASSIVE video library, footage available on request🦄 Big boys first ever dressage tests turned a score of over 60% earning him runner up OTT champion in that event.
Diego is the kind of thoroughbred that needs to be started jumping 65 - 70cm as he gets confused with the smaller ones and they don't teach him to get a distance or pick his legs up. Potential is endless with this guy and he's got the temperament to try his best at anything. Owner is looking for a show home for Diego, someone looking for a good blank canvas to jump on day 1 and get started will be ideal.
